Still Standing Art Show
Tattooing and the US military have had a long and colorful relationship that started back in 1846 and continues still today. As an artist and former service member, Chris Lowe owner of Naked Art Tattoos has had the privilege of working with these brave men and women at home and abroad. The members of our armed forces not only dedicate their lives to our protection, but many have sacrificed their bodies in the process. 'Still Standing', in cooperation with Wounded Warrior project, will raise money and awareness for these fine individuals, while showcasing art from around the world. 'Still Standing' will be gathering more than
40 of the worlds finest tattoo artists to create a global art exhibition to bring awareness to a topic that is so often overlooked. These artists will dedicate their considerable talent and skill in an effort to illuminate a subject we so often turn a blind eye to. Each artist will create a unique work to be displayed in the 'Still Standing Art Show', which will be making stops across the globe. Through a specialized printing process, the artwork can then be molded directly into a soldiers prosthesis. These specially printed images will be made available to all service members who want them during the course of the shows one year tour, with all proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior project. with the goal These wearable pieces of art will serve as a lifelong badge of their courage and a visual way of allowing them to express themselves individually. In addition all of the original artwork and prints will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Wounded Warrior project. The 'Still Standing' Art Show is a not-for-profit (since you don't have the business finalized yet, you can't claim "non-profit") organization founded by Chris Lowe of Naked Art Tattoos, and is made possible through the generous support of Mark Becknauld of Permanent Ink Management & Promotion, and TattooNow.com.
